A Word from The President
I would like to introduce the Whiteshell Snowmobile Club. We are a non-profit organization that has supported the Whiteshell Trail System since 1991. Snowmobiling is a very popular winter activity and our trails in the Whiteshell have a very high volume of traffic volume, with access points from Ontario, south Whiteshell, Elma, and Seven Sisters, not to mention the 3200+ cottages located within the Park. The WSC maintains 10 warm up shelters along the Park trail system, supply wood, maintenance and in some point in time, shelter replacement.
The WSC has formed a new WSC Trail Committee, to enhance our partnership with Parks to support trail opening, with an expansion into small equipment to help with clearing, brushing and trapping/packing within the Whiteshell trail system. We have purchased two Argos, chainsaws, brushers, a storage C-can, sleighs, tire drags, expeditions, a flood pump, a drag, and other equipment with a future expansion as needed to meet the needs of the members.
What does this all mean? Volunteers are the backbone of our club. As we support our membership and the public, we need the equipment, supported by a robust volunteer base to allow us to enhance the snowmobiling experience in the Whiteshell.
Ice conditions dictate when the groomers can do their work, the weather leaves a large window from Christmas to mid late January/beginning of February for the club to have the trails tramped, packed and usable to get around the Whiteshell Park with access vendors for food, accommodations, services, and gasoline.
We rely on Memberships and Advertising to support our finances. Your support through memberships in the Club does a lot to sustain our mission. Your volunteer contributions allow us to create an safe and exciting environment to ride and share times with family and to meet other riding enthusiasts.
